Xterra Trail Run World Championship

The Hawaiian Islands have long been a tropical oasis of sun, sand, and surf that call to vacationers from around the globe. Between the palm trees, jungle, canyons and cliffs, Hawaii provides guests with a wide array of scenic landscapes that endlessly captivate the mind and imagination. While it’s a pristine place to relax and unwind, it’s dynamic terrain also provides a location where runners can put their athletic limits to the test. The annual Xterra Trail Run World Championships will once again be hosted in Hawaii in 2019 inviting athletes from near and far to make the most of a rugged trail and breathtaking views.

Where Exceptional Meets Exquisite

The Xterra Trail Run World Championship is known for being the ultimate experience when it comes to physical running challenges. In 2019 the event will be hosted at Kualoa Ranch November 24th on Oahu where it has been held since it’s inaugural race in 2008. Participants in this race face down a 21-kilometer half-marathon route that is as difficult as it is thrilling to the senses. One of the many benefits of participating in the Xterra Trail Run World Championship is the opportunity to take to trails across the ranch that are otherwise closed to the public throughout the year. This exclusive encounter is available to participants of all levels and abilities as this championship race does not require a qualifying time.

Route Highlights

As runners take to the trails, they have the unique opportunity to witness a variety of beautiful landmarks. Amazing views include cliffsides, rainforest, and open valleys. Participants also enjoy views of the sea as well as breathtaking white sand beaches. Movie enthusiasts often enjoy the fact that this race takes them through the heart of landscapes that have served to set the scene in such features as Jurassic Park, Pearl Harbor, and Godzilla.

Participant Specifics

While the 21K is a highly popular route, participants have a choice to sing up for a 10K or 5K depending on endurance. The registration fee ranges from $30 to $65 depending on the race length and top finishers in the 21K will be competing for a $10,000 prize.
